Unwrap the Joy By Giving Back in Santa Barbara and Montecito This Holiday Season
The holiday season is officially here, and what a magnificent time it is! This time of year always feels charged with extra kindness, connection, and the beautiful spirit of community. As the year winds down, many of us find ourselves naturally looking outward, wondering, "How can I help the people and precious pets around me?"
The good news is that in the heart of Santa Barbara and Montecito, the spirit of giving is alive and thriving in our community. Neighbors consistently step up to provide essential support for families, children, and beloved furbabies. Organizations like the Santa Barbara Foundation fund programs that deliver meals, housing, and medical care directly to those who need it most. In 2023, the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara contributed an impressive $1,250,000 to eleven local nonprofits. These contributions show the real, life-changing impact of giving within our own community.
The Locale Group’s Passion for Community Support
Here at Locale Group, our commitment to community support is an all-year-round passion. We believe in a hands-on approach to making our locale a better place for everyone.
You might remember the energy from September when our Compass Fun Committee, brilliantly led by Michelle Heckman, laced up their running shoes for the She.Is.Beautiful 5K/10K. We were thrilled to raise over $3,000 for Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara! The funds help after-school programs where girls develop leadership, STEM, and academic skills. Nearly half of the participants come from households at or below the federal poverty level. Girls Inc. also provided $586,000 in scholarships last year, ensuring programs remain accessible to all.
But our love for the community extends to our four-legged friends, too! The Locale Group regularly volunteers with Santa Barbara Humane, assisting with daily operations and supporting their incredible growth. We were there for the groundbreaking of their new campus, set for August 2025. This expansion promises more shelter space, enhanced veterinary care, and even more resources for our beloved furbabies and the families who welcome them home.
