About Jon Perkins

Jon is a 30-plus-year veteran of the real estate industry, and opened The Locale Group at Compass to fill an underserved client need; providing buyers with detailed and current information not only about area homes, but about the ins and outs of the communities.

With his ownership, management, and luxury sales experience in five real estate and finance companies during his career, Jon’s successfully assisted clients with hundreds of millions of dollars in sales. As an agent and a broker, he's navigated clients through multiple upturns and downturns in the economy, providing facts and a clear outlook to help buyers and sellers make educated decisions about the housing market. Prior to his move to Compass, Jon was part of the International President’s Elite at Coldwell Banker, placing him in the top 3% of agents worldwide.

Jon’s dedication to the business and his clients is evident in his commitment to education and technology as it applies to real estate. Over his career he’s become a Certified Negotiation Expert, an Accredited Buyer Representative, is a Graduate of the Realtor Institute, and is a Certified Residential Specialist, the highest credential awarded to residential salespeople, managers and brokers. While he embraces the almost forgotten practice of an in-person meeting and a handshake, he has an eye on the future and is actively integrating artificial intelligence to help Locale’s clients.

Knowing the importance of being actively involved in the community, Jon has assisted and donated to many local organizations and charities, including the United Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs, Hope Refuge, Foodbank of Santa Barbara, Goodwill, United Way, The Unity Shoppe, Alpha Resource, and multiple area schools. 

Jon is a third generation Santa Barbaran, having grown up in Hope Ranch, attended San Marcos High, and college at the University of California at San Diego. He has two amazing sons, Carson and Drew, and loves introducing Montecito and Santa Barbara to those who want to learn more about the area.
